Ingredients:

  • 1-pint fresh shucked oysters, separate liquor and reserve
  • 4-tablespoon butter
  • 3-tablespoon shallots finely chopped
  • 1-teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 quart half and half
  • Either 1-tablespoon Pernod or ½ teaspoon anise
  • Hot sauce to taste
  • Chopped fresh chives for garnish
  • Oyster crackers (optional)
